President Mahama must resign - Casely Hayford

Financial Analyst Sydney Casely Hayford has called for the resignation of President John Dramani Mahama for accepting responsibility for the energy crisis that has plagued the country in recent times.

Ghana has been battling with inconsistent power supply in recent times.

President John Dramani Mahama during a meeting with the Ghanaian community in Germany said he takes responsibility for the worsening energy crisis in Ghana saying, “I accept the responsibility for it and I will work to resolve it.”

According to Casley Hayford, though he believes that the president is not to blame for the power crisis, Mahama’s comments indicate that his policies and plans being implemented to solve the problem have failed and must therefore step down.

“When I said Mahama is not to be blame he says he is responsible, I don’t have a problem with him accepting responsibility, but if he is accepting responsibility then he has to resign because it has failed. Whatever it is that he has tried to do as far as the dumsor is concerned he has not succeeded so he has to leave,” he added.

Arguing his statement out on Citi Fm, Sydney Casely Hayford explained that “We have had a concentrated failure of investments evolvement in this sector for too long,” hence his call.
