President Mahama dissolves boards of nine state institutions

President John Dramani Mahama has dissolved the boards of nine state-owned institutions with immediate effect.

The affected institutions include the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company Limited (BOST), Consolidated Bank Ghana Limited (CBG), and TDC Ghana Limited.

The others are Prestea Sankofa Gold Limited, Volta Aluminium Company Limited (VALCO), Ghana Post Company Limited, the Road Maintenance Trust Fund, and the National Sports Authority.

According to a statement from the Presidency issued on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, the relevant sector ministers have been directed to take all necessary steps to give effect to the dissolution in accordance with applicable laws and governing instruments.

The Presidency said the affected boards will be reconstituted in due course.
