President Mahama actualizing the 'golden age of business'

-Chief of Staff Tells Professionals in Accra

The Chief of Staff, Mr Julius Debrah has said that President John Dramani Mahama is giving real meaning to NPP's mantra of the 'Golden Age of Business''. ''Now is the time for 'Golden Age of Business,' he said.

Mr Debrah told professionals at a breakfast meeting at the Alisa Hotel in Accra this morning that President Mahama has a major business development plan for this country in his second term.

According to him, the President has in his first term built the basic infrastructure of the country to a large extent and this has made it possible for the execution of the business development plan in his second term.
He said the President prime objective is to channel resources into small and medium scale businesses in his second term in office.
In line with the NDC's 2016 manifesto regarding building a strong and robust economy, as explained by the Deputy Minister of Communications, Hon Ato Sarpong in a presentation, the next NDC government will invest GHC13 billion in 184 projects that will create a minimum of 3 million jobs.
This he indicated is borne out of the President's transformation model of building infrastructure for accelerated development.
The Chief of Staff also said that Ghana's only aluminum company, the Volta Aluminum Company (VOLCO), is in the process of building its own power generating plant.
According to him, VOLCO is building its own power source together with its partners from the USA.

Prof Kwamena Ahwoi implored the professionals to avert their minds to the question as to how the NPP and their flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo, could have been promising one district, one factory if President Mahama did not construct the roads and extended electricity and water to almost every nook and cranny of the country.
Some suggestions from among the professionals include the need to build a national gallery of contemporary arts and also the fact that government makes such engagements a structured and regular feature. There were also concerns about high cost of doing business and borrowing, which were competently dealt with.
The Chief of Staff said such interactions are important because the idea of governance is not about one group of people imposing their ideas on the others.
He encouraged individuals and groups to bring their ideas on board.

He called on the professionals to vote massively for President Mahama on December 7 for a better future for the country.
