President Kufuor's Potrait on Cedi: The People's Voice

VIEW POLL RESULTS

Lets not start getting stupid, we have just voted a tyrant out of power let us not create another by blind hero worshiping. This government has made many promises and has not delivered. When we see some improvement in our lives maybe then we will honour him. Not until then. Ghanaians beware of our past stupidity. Lets not repeat the same things of the past. Kufuor is not that type of a vain person, and I'm sure he himself knows it is not right to do such a stupid thing. Anyway the result of the voting show how wrong it will be to try something of the sort out. All said I still contratulate him on giving Ghanaians a sound chance at democracy. Long live the President and God bless Ghanaians.
--- John Owusu

Lets face it, Mr President, will not even think of having his pretty face on the Ghanaian currency. What for? And where did Nana Alex Asamoa get his info, which he says is a rumour from? Be real Ghanaians. I trust this is just a propaganda tactic by some elelments aimed at dragging the name of the president into the mud, just like some didi to the former president with the Paul Gyamfi issue. I rest my case. Any comments on my comments, 23324618115. Good day!!
--- Cyrus deGraft-Johnson

Not in the least. The Prez. is being opportunistic. Even Rawlings who led the Nation for almost twenty years did not do that.
--- BEN ODOI YEMOH

Prez Kuffuor Deserves to have his portrait on our new currency.Because he represent our New era of freedom and developement. There might be other people who deserve too . Nkrumah had his portrait on the cedi during his regime and there wasn't problems.Caesar also had his portrait on the currency During the time of Our lord Jesus Christ. why not Our New man of matured democracy. It is not premature to forecast after experiencing a very good start in comparising to the Twenty year tyranic and opressive rule by the former regime. We are living beings and must respond to stimuli. The Pains from the whips we received during P/NDC era are unforgetable.Seeing Kuffuor daily on our money shall remind us of our transition from detatorship to Democracy.
All coments are heartily welcome.

The reason i vote no is all what he does is travelling so he can stash some of the penny per diem money in his pocket and people around him and dont care about the people suffering back home in that poor enviroment, and my question is when is going to be the best time for our leaders to stop thinking only themselves . LONG LIVE GHANA & GOD BLESS AFRICA.
--- mohammed karimu

well, he deserved it as a president, but under the present circumstances that might look a little politically biased in a way of scoring a cheap political point. and also to be recognised by the few illitreats when next the election comes. moreover, it might develop hatred among the other opposition parties stemming from the fact stated above.
--- charlie

It is too early and he has to prove himself. Absolutely no! Nkrumah belongs more than Kofour!
--- Nii Bannerman

i dont know what he has achieved or any memorable thing he has done.i think they should rather use one fo the big six who is known all over the world, that can attract some tourism
--- nana kwasi kwarteng

The President's image on a worrthless cedis shall be of no credit to him and his government, he should better the worth of the cedi by so doing he will leave a better image of himself and his rulling party.
--- Densuba

Let us all, as sincere Ghanaians be honest 2 ourselves. One need not become the president of Ghana to be recognise for his contributions.. and even as an NPP sympathiser, I sincerely feel there are lots of Ghanaians who deserve such a recognition than Pres. Kuffour, at least for now.
-- Issa

I am rather surprised that there should be a straw poll on a matter that is purely speculative. No evidence has been produced so far to substantiate the claim that JAK wants his portrait on new currency notes. I dare say that the claim is no more than an attempt by an ill -wisher to redicule the President and udermine his standing .. Please credit the President with some intelligence and stop pandering to the mischief of rumour mongers.
--- B. Brobbey

What has he done to diserve this? we don't even want him in power second time in fact i regret i voted for him, he is going too far.
--- samuel damoah

I would be greatly shocked if indeed the president' s portrait is on the currency note. I thought the era of personality cult was over in Ghana.
Please, Please, Please do not put it on. I am a Kuffour admirer but wont go with this one.
--- Nana Bonsu

Jak should better his chances of winning the next election by being sensitive to the ever increasing plight of the vast majority of Ghanaians and not effigies on new useless notes
--- agya kromo

I think he deserve to do that because of the way the criticism is going, there is no way he can be remembered. Therefore he has to remember himself by putting his portrait on the cedi.
--- Abenaa Nimo

The cedi will continue to loose value. He should concrntrate on stabilizing the cedi through increased production and diversification of the economy
