Pregnant toll collector killed by tipper truck in Sekondi

A 41-year-old pregnant woman has been killed by a tipper truck in Sekondi of the Western Region.

The incident happened on Monday, January 22, 2018 at about 1:45pm when one Emmanuel Ayidzi who was in charge of JUSMOH Construction Man Diesel tipper truck with registration no GN 9630 -16 driving from Sekondi to Jusmoh quarry site at Ngyeresia lost control and crashed into a tree.

On reaching the Residency junction near Essikado, he lost control of the truck and crashed Elizabeth Nichie, aged 41, a toll collector for GPRTU who was sitting under a tree by the roadside killing her instantly.

The deceased was 6 months pregnant

The body has since been conveyed by the police to Effia Nkwanta Morgue for preservation and autopsy whilst the driver is in Police custody

The Truck has since been impounded by the Police.
