Pratt to debate Baako on 1982 coup plot

Mr Kwasi Pratt Junior, Managing Editor of the Weekly Insight on Saturday said he had accepted the challenge to debate Mr Kweku Baako Junior (pictured), Editor of the Crusading Guide on issues related to a coup plot in January 1982.

"I cannot wait for this debate or confrontation. It will be most interesting," Mr Pratt said in a statement he signed.

The statement said, "I accept the challenge without any hesitation because I firmly believe that it will contribute to establish the truth about the events of 1982 and the role played by progressive individuals and organisations in them.

"It is indeed unfortunate that Mr Baako has finally succumbed to the very dark forces, hell bent on using the distortions and lies about the events of 1982 to attack my integrity," the statement said.

"It must be made clear to all those who are involved in this campaign of vilification that, ultimately their own political and social records would be fair game," the statement added.
