Pomadze multipurpose poultry farm on course – Vice President

Vice President, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, has assured that government is on track to complete the 100,000-bird Pomadze multipurpose poultry farm.

The facility, featuring modern feeding systems, a feed mill and eco-friendly waste management, honours the Ahmadiyya Muslim community’s contributions to agriculture and national development.

Aligned with the Feed Ghana and Nkoko Nkete Nkete programmes, the project aims to boost domestic poultry production, create jobs, stabilise prices and enhance food security.

Prof Opoku-Agyemang gave the assurance at the 93rd Annual National Convention of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission, Ghana, held at Gomoa Pomadze near Winneba.

“This is how policy becomes practice, and government will continue to work with faith-based institutions to deliver sustainable development,” she said.

She commended the Ahmadiyya community for its investments in education, healthcare and humanitarian services.

Addressing the convention’s theme, “Moral decadence bane: Our responsibilities in the light of Islamic teachings,” the Vice President cited Quran 30:41 to denounce corruption, calling for leadership by example, ethical conduct and accountability.

She reaffirmed government’s commitment to justice and transparency, noting the enforcement of a strengthened code of conduct for political appointees and public officials.

Highlighting first-year achievements, she cited reduced inflation, currency stability, the waiver of academic fees for first-year public university students, and the launch of the Ghana Medical Trust Fund (Mahama Cares), backed by GH¢1.5 billion.
