Executive Secretary to the former Inspector General of Police (IGP) David Asante Apeatu, and NDC candidate for the Wa West constituency, Superintendent Peter Toobu(Retired) has revealed that politics never existed between him and his former boss.

The sudden resignation of Superintendent Peter Lanchene Toobu to venture into politics was greeted with mixed reactions with sections suggesting it could be the reason David-Asante Apeatu was fired.

But speaking about his relationship with the former IGP, he stated that they related professionally without partisan politics contrary to what many perceived.

“We related professionally and partisan politics had no room”, he said in post sighted by MyNewsGh.com.

Hailing him for contributing meritoriously to the development of the police administration he added”

Work to please God and not man. Posterity will hold us accountable for what we are doing today.” Asante-Apeatu. This was the statement you engraved in my heart while I served under your mantle. Your honesty and human skills made me to work one extra year for the Ghana Police Service against my life-plan which we never discussed".

"You’ve written your name not in sand but in the hearts of thousands of Police Officers who knew what you stood for. We related professionally and partisan politics had no room. Let those who don’t understand policing say and do their worse but you remain DAVID ASANTE-APEATU, retired IGP. You are not just a human being. You are human and humane. I salute you”
