Politics In Ghana Is Now Plagued By Many Ills

Many politicians are always placing the attainment of power OVER and ABOVE the pursuit of PRINCIPLES.
Some politicians are prepared to CONDONE and CONNIVE in doing the WRONG THINGS if that would enable them to ACHIEVE or BASK in the GLORY OF POWER.
At times they are ready to KILL even their own party members whom they consider as STUMBLING BLOCKS on their way.
Such politicians use threats, intimidations, extreme political vendetta, vilifications and UNBRIDDLED TRIBALISM that is fast threatening the SURVIVAL OF THE NATION as it is currently happening now between the NDC and the NPP from Dr. Nkrumah’s CPP government to Kufour’s NPP govt-2001-2008. People lost their jobs, people were demoted in their work places nationwide. Businesses were destroyed because of their political beliefs – was all these democratic, constitutional, autocratic or plain hatred.
How can the President appoint only 8 Northerners in his government and the tribal bigots from the Asante/Akyem block which is the foundation of the NPP start complaining all over the country, as if Northerners does not deserve to work at the Castle or get appointments in state institutions. Do they think Northerners would remain hewers of wood forever?
Cast your minds back to the NPP era under Ex-prez.
Kufour, 98% of his appointees came from the Asante/Akyem block and it included his nephews, nieces, brother in-laws sister-in-laws, girl friends, family friends some of who could hardly express them selves in English and yet NOBODY COUGHED.
I really don’t think there is sufficient appreciation of the DANGER we face as a Nation. Ghana has now become a Commercial State where she sells products from other countries instead of producing her own for export. This is because politicians have been fighting among themselves like crabs in a bucket since 1992 to date 2013.

CAUSING FINANCIAL LOSS TO THE STATE
Can you even believe that the NDC whose Former Ministers under Former President Rawlings paid the price of a very BAD LAW that they parented against its repeal between 2001-2008 because they wanted to apply it to the NPP if they came to power in 2009. Yes, the late President Mills kicked against the repeal of that law when he was the then Presidential Candidate of the NDC from 2006-2008, and yet when he finally became President of Ghana, he said “LET IT BE. This is one of the very reasons why Former President Jerry Rawlings never forgave Mills until his death when Rawlings stated thus: Professor, You Are Now Free! Former NPP members committed gargantuan crimes from 2001 to 2008 and were left off the hook by Mills because he did not want vengeance.
Yester year, under Dr. Kwame Nkrumah’s CPP government, it was the dreaded Preventive Detention Act (P.D.A). Yes as a former Young Pioneer Cadre, I saw how it worked to the extent that innocent people were even reported to the State Authorities and they were arrested and dumped in prison just like that – what was it? MISUSE OF POLITICAL POWER. I also participated in enforcing that Law because the situation in Ghana between 1956 and 1958 demanded it since there was an attempted coup de tat in 1958, by Mr. R.R. Amponsah a civilian from the United Party (UP) which the NPP represent today, just one year after Ghana’s independence in March 1957.
Therefore, the present behavior of the NPP where they sent the President and the Electoral Commissioner to the Supreme Court is NOT a surprise to those of us who know the characteristics of the Danquah Busia tradition which the NPP represent today 2013. If they are not in power, whoever is in power must be subverted, undermined and even violently overthrown by FORCE of ARMS as they did to Dr. Nkrumah and his grassroot CPP government on 24th Feb. 1966 because they (NPP) have the false belief that Ghana belong to them than ANY MINORITY TRIBE IN GHANA since 1951 to date 2013. However, they would all live to regret it now. What would actually happen in Ghana, if in the unlikely event that Nana Akuffo Addo and other vengeful losers win the ongoing case at the Supreme Court which they the (NPP) are 100% sure of winning? Anarchy, extreme violence, insurgency and what have you would prevail, but God forbid. The NPP have the full backing of some crooks in cassocks and false Pastors and Prophets who predicted Akuffo Addo’s victory only for him to lose miserably. The P.D.A was an instrument of persecuting the opponents of the CPP government but today it is Causing Financial Loss to the State and it is ONLY the NPP which used that BAD LAW passed by the NDC under President Rawlings to jail innocent Former Ministers who worked under him, yet when it came to the NDC’s time to use the same law against the NPP in 2009, the then President stated that we (NDC) should let it be, and even went a step further to say that NPP appointees must NOT BE SACKED from their jobs as Ex-Prez. Kufour did to the NDC members upon becoming the vicious President of Ghana by default, in Jan. 2001. I am really not convinced that the country is actually AWAKE to the DANGER of POLITICAL VENDETTA posed by that Law, the Law is very bad, at least in the manner in which it has been interpreted and applied by the law courts. The country needed not to wait for the NDC or NPP to show how BADLY they would want to apply it before we wake up to the danger. Some might view the confrontation between the NPP and the NDC as exciting because there are inherent dangers since the lies, insults, vilification, tribalism and threats all threaten to tear the country apart. That is not good at all, because it has the effect of driving the GOOD PEOPLE AWAY FROM POLITICS and MEDIOCRITY is inflicted upon the country. If the country failed to hold check the GREED of some members of the political and business community, Ghana would be no different from all those countries whose OIL wealth had been more of a CURSE than a BLESSING, if you doubt it, look over your shoulders and see what is happening to the Federal Republic of Nigeria, our next door neighbor, or visit the Republic of Angola in Southern Africa. Millions of people actually go to bed hungry in these two OIL RICH COUNTRIES and we don’t want such a situation to rear its ugly head in Ghana at all because Democracy without good drinking water, good roads, quality education, quality health, electricity, well paid jobs for the Youth which makes life worth living:-
Is NOT A DEMOCRACY at all. Anyway, our country, Ghana is lucky to have an honest baby faced President working for all Ghanaians, so we would simply see positive bright light at the end of the TUNNEL when he leaves office after serving his 12 year mandate. Are Ghanaian Politicians Listening? I am done but will be back when the need arise. “Jaanbie Iwail.” ALUTA CONTINUA!!!!!
