Policies must address welfare concerns – K. B. Asante

Retired Diplomat, K. B. Asante, has said Ghana should have plans and policies which should be capable of addressing the welfare concerns of the people and promoting the private sector.

In an interview with Joy News, K. B. Asante advised that, as a country, we must prioritize our needs and not always depend on foreign aid to balance our budgets.

Loans from donors, he says, should have specific usage, which will be geared towards the expansion of the economy with appointments and nominations done on grounds of competence.

He also said, the work of public office holders should be devoid of government interference to ensure efficiency.

When public office holders misconduct themselves, K.B. Asante says, the whip should be cracked on them. He also advised the youth to be more focused in their endeavors.

He added: “Ghanaians are responsible for their development and our problems should be dealt by us.”
