Policeman run over by truck on Tema-Nungua Beach road identified

The deceased has been identified as General Constable Felix Amoah

MyNewsGh.com has confirmed the identity of the policeman who was run over by an articulated trailer truck on the Tema-Nungua Beach road on Tuesday afternoon.

Police revealed to this portal that the deceased is General Constable Felix Amoah with service number 52348 with Tema Regional Operations.

He was riding a royal motorbike with registration number M-16-GW4932 while the vehicle which was a Daf XF articulated truck was registered GW4926-15.

According to the police account, the incident occurred at about 2pm on Tuesday June 19, 2019 while the deceased and truck were heading towards Tema on the main Sakumono -Tema beach road

According to eyewitnesses account the truck which is suspected to have failed brakes and run on the uniformed policeman who was riding a motorbike ahead of the vehicle on the same lane.

The 42-year-old articulated truck driver identified as Michael Armah has since been arrested and is assisting the police in their investigations.

The policeman died on the spot and the motorbike damaged beyond repairs.

His body since been deposited at the morgue of the General Hospital.
