A police Constable with the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Unit, Attah Obed, has been interdicted by the Ghana Police Service for allegedly robbing some students of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) at Ebuoho, a suburb of Kumasi.

The policeman, according to a police source available to MyNewsGh.com, last Tuesday, abandoned his duty post at the Bureau of National Communication and lured the victims who had been arrested and freed at Adum for driving an unregistered car with a DV plate, to Nbrom Hotel where he was joined by four accomplices of his.

They then instructed the students to drive to a feeder road at Ebuoho, while the policeman wielded his AK 47 assault rifle. On arrival, the policeman and his gang robbed the victims of their mobile phones and snatched the Hyundai Sonata vehicle.

A Team from the Ashanti Regional Police Command upon investigations, managed to retrieve the iPhone from Constable Attah Obed.

He has since been interdicted according to official police sources that confirmed to MyNewsGh.com and is currently in police custody assisting with investigations.
