The Suhum Police in the Eastern region have launched a manhunt for a 50-year old farmer Yaw Dogah for inflicting deep cutlass wounds on the head of his 8- year old daughter.

The suspect allegedly hurled cutlass at the victim when she attempted to escape from his attack.

The cutlass eventually wounded the head of the victim who subsequently fell heavily on the ground and sustained severe injuries on the face as well.

The victim was however kept in the room despite the injuries without treatment until the Suhum Police got wind of it and rushed to the house to rescue the victim to Suhum government hospital where he is currently receiving treatment.

According to the Suhum Municipal Police Commander, Superintendent Yaaya Muchiraru, the incident occurred at Asuboi – Wawase suburb of Ayensuano District in the Eastern region.

Ultimate news’ Kojo Ansah reported that the suspect went into hiding after committing the heinous crime before the arrival of the police.

According to Superintendent Yaaya Muchiraru, efforts are being made to arrest the suspect calling on the public to help with vital information about his where about to aid his arrest for prosecution.
