The battle against the illegal trafficking of Ghanaians intensifies as security operatives have moved in to save close to 44 victims of human trafficking along the Aflao boarder in the Volta Region.

A senior spokesperson with the Ghana Immigration Service, Amoako Atta, has revealed that the victims, mostly females, were being trafficked to Saudi Arabia through Nigeria.

Checks by YEN.com.gh shows that these innocent young ladies could have been lured into having lucrative businesses in the Gulf States hence the voluntary decision for them to take on the move to embark on such a treacherous trip.

Earlier reports by YEN show that some key politicians are secretly behind the menace of human trafficking as a former deputy head of mission at Arabia, Hajia Hawawu Boya Gariba, revealed how some hidden political figures were secretly fuelling the trafficking of these young ladies.

The shocking revelation by the this former government appointee follows investigations conducted by Joy FM over the grueling treatment meted out to these female migrants by their masters at the Gulf States.

YEN.com.gh had earlier revealed to you how most of these girls are being maltreated and sexually abused by persons in such foreign countries a development which led to the foreign affairs minister warning that such ladies and men risk travelling to the Gulf States at their own risk.

Meanwhile, all 44 ladies including four other perpetrators have been rounded up by the police for crucial investigations.
