Three people linked to the murder of an assembly member have been grabbed by the police in Kumasi.
The suspects gunned down the deceased, Samuel Frimpong, at Atwima-Techiman near Kumasi on March 24, last year.
Their names were given as Kwabena Yeboah, alias “Mugabe”, Samuel Duah, alias “Tuga” and Cosmos Akwasi Frimpong, a younger brother of the slain assembly member.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Kofi Boakye, the Ashanti Regional Commander, told a media briefing that they were being held at the Kumasi Central Police Station.
He said they had confessed to investigators of their involvement in the gruesome assassination.
Yeboah and Duah were allegedly contracted by Cosmos to murder his own senior brother to take over his estate.
The deceased, operated a small-scale mine in the Atwima-Mponua District and was about entering his house in his car, when he was shot and killed.
A Chinese, who was with him in the car together with one other person, were unhurt.
The suspects fled the crime scene and did not take away with them anything belonging to the deceased.
