Police calls for help to identify accident victim

Asamankese, June 5, GNA - Eight days after a girl of about 14 years died instantly in a motor accident at Topease near Asamankese, her body still lay at the St Dominic's Hospital mortuary at Akwatia unidentified and unclaimed.

The Asamankese Police Accident squad and the authorities at the hospital have appealed to the general public to help identify her and for the relatives to claim the body.

A Police spokesman said three others who received serious injuries in the accident were rushed to the hospital and one of them, a 19-year-old student, Miss Deberah Sarpong had since been referred to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra. The two others still at St Dominic's hospital and responding to treatment are a 15-year-old student, Mark Quainoo and Miss Maltida Debrah, 38.

According to the police, the KIA Rhino truck travelling from Osenase towards Asamankese grazed a Mazda mini bus on which the dead and injured were travelling.
