Three suspects have been arrested by the Eastern North Regional Police Command for allegedly stealing a Hyundai Santa Fe, registration number GG 2–18, at Sarpeiman in the Greater Accra Region.
The suspects were apprehended on April 30, 2025. Two of them, Kwabena Tawiah and Kwadwo Asiedu, were arrested at a hotel in Nkawkaw, where they were reportedly hiding.
The third suspect, Dennis Debra, also known as “Kapun,” was arrested at Pemenase in the Ashanti Region for dishonestly receiving the stolen vehicle.
A police statement copied to the Ghana News Agency indicated that initial investigations revealed the vehicle had been stolen from a washing bay at Kuntunse Satellite in Accra, six days prior to the arrests.
During interrogation, Tawiah and Asiedu allegedly admitted to selling the vehicle to Debra for GH₵15,000.00. Police added that GH₵2,000.00 had been paid as part of the transaction.
A search conducted on Debra led to the recovery of the vehicle’s ignition key.
The suspects and the recovered vehicle have been handed over to the Accra Police Command to assist with further investigations.
