Police in Wa, in the early hours of Friday, arrested three suspected armed robbers noted for robbing workers of Odo Guest House.
The three are Maaku Tibe Wilfred, 28, Diaudeen Mahazu, 23, and Rashid Eliasu, 21.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DCOP) Mr Kwesi Mensah Duku, Upper West Regional Police Commander, briefing the media, said at about 0300 hours, the police received a distress call that seven armed men had gone to attack workers of Odo Guest House.
He said in the process they robbed them of five decoders and unspecified number of mobile phones, assorted drinks and other undisclosed properties.
DCOP Duku said the police patrol team immediately proceeded to the scene of the crime where they found blood stains on the floor of the reception and broken glasses.
He said witnesses then told the police that some of the broken glasses cut the upper lip of the suspect in the process of breaking and entering the manager's office.
The Police Commander said the police, upon this information, decided to proceed to the Wa Government Hospital where they arrested suspect Rashid Eliasu, who had the cut on his upper lip trying to receive medical attention.
The suspect was arrested together with Maaku Tibe Wilfred and Diaudeen Mahazu, who were holding a black bag containing one DSTV decoder, a red jacket, five remote controls, sachets of alomo bitters and phone chargers.
DCOP Duku said the police interrogated the suspects and found out that Diaudeen Mahazu and Rashid Eliasu were ex-convicts.
He said the police were doing all they could to arrest those that bolted.
He said contemporary policing was a shared responsibility and appealed to the public to help the police with relevant information to help eliminate miscreants in society.
