The Ghana Police Service has announced the arrest of four individuals in connection with two separate robbery incidents in the Upper West Region.
In a statement signed by DCOP Francis Yiribaare, the police said three of the suspects, Iddrisu Sidibey (19), Abdulai Bandey (20), and Suleman Issah Zibrim (23), were apprehended in the Chogsia community.
The statement added that the suspects are linked to two robbery incidents involving victims Thomas Dormatey and Issah Ibrahim. They are currently in police custody, assisting with investigations.
“Three of the suspects, identified as Iddrisu Sidibey (19), Abdulai Bandey (20), and Suleman Issah Zibrim (23), robbed the first victim, Thomas Dormatey, a teacher, of his mobile phone and an amount of two thousand, six hundred Ghana cedis (GH¢2,600) on February 28, 2026, between the Gadi and Chogsia communities, after shooting him in the leg.

“The second victim, Issah Ibrahim, was also robbed on March 8, 2026, at the same location of his mobile phone and an amount of two thousand, seven hundred and fifty Ghana cedis (GH¢2,750), while he was returning from the Jagluu community at about 7:30 pm,” the statement read.
The police further disclosed that on March 11, 2026, suspect Abdulai Bandey led officers to arrest an accomplice, Abdul Rahman Abdulai, at Gojiyiri near Wechau. He is believed to be the supplier of the firearm used in the robberies.
According to the statement, the suspect subsequently led police to retrieve the weapon, which had been hidden in the bush.
It added that two other suspects, identified as Adil and Sambo, are currently on the run and are being pursued by the police.
The arrested suspects have been arraigned before the Wa District Magistrate Court and remanded into custody. They are expected to reappear on March 26, 2026.
