A statement signed by Patrick Eden Timbillah, Deputy Commissioner of Accra Regional Police Command, and copied to the Ghana News Agency on Monday, entreated the public to note the venues, dates and times so as to participate in the programme.

It indicated that similar exercise would be held in all the regions across the country.

The program, according to DCP Timbillah, is aimed at targeting the general public including all eligible voters and stakeholders like the Electoral Commission, media and political parties among others to chart out mutual understanding, harmony and co-operation to ensure a peaceful election.

“On a continent where disputed elections have often resulted in civil wars, peace should be maintained before, during and after the elections so that the country can continue to enjoy peace and stability," it said.

The statement said it is in pursuance of this that a comprehensive Security Management Plan had been put in place to bring this laudable dream into reality adding that the Accra Regional Command would be rolling out a program to interact and solicit support from the general public to give maximum effect to the general security plan.

It said the program would be supported by the other security services namely, the Ghana Armed Forces, the Prison Service, the National Fire Service, the Immigration Service and the Custom Exercise and Preventive Service.
