Police Service is well resourced – CID Spokesperson

The Police Service has enough logistics to carry out their administrative and public responsibilities, Public Relations Officer of the Criminal Investigations Department of the Service, ASP Joseph Benefo Darkwa has told Morning Starr host Kafui Dey.

There are concerns over the failure of the police to produce the eight suspected Nigerian pirates in court Wednesday due to logistical challenges.

State prosecutors told the court there were no vehicles to transport the suspects to the court.

But reacting to the development Thursday, ASP Benefo Darkwa said the Police service no longer has logistical challenges. He said his office is yet to find out what happened in the particular case involving the suspected pirates.

“I don’t have much detail on this particular case so I have to find out why the suspects were not produced in court, but I will say we are fully resourced.

“We are well resourced to conduct our business and discharge our mandate. We have been resourced, we have cars and whatever we need to do our work,” he stated.
