Please retract this fabricated story!

To The Editor
Graphic

Dear Editor,

My attention has been drawn to an article published by the Graphic on line version of 17th February 2004 in which I was alleged to have made a statement as an executive member of a Gadangme organisation in the UK commending President Kufour on the nomination of Nii Adjiri Blankson as the new mayor of Accra.

I wish to state that I have made no such statement and demand a retraction of the comments attributed to me and an apology for associating my good name to such a statement.

The impression the article, that had no by-line, sought to create was that GaDangme in the UK were happy with this nomination and that as an executive member of the, unnamed, organisation I was speaking on behalf of all Gadangme in the UK.

I would be grateful if you could provide me with the source of the statement; if it exists, though I am certain that it is a fabrication intended to tarnish my good name.

I hope that the National Media Commission will investigate this complaint and deal with the perpetrators.

if I had any comments to pass on the nominations and appointments of President Kufour, it would be to say that they are not inspiring.

This is especially at this time in an election year when the sound thinking people in Accra and the country should be thinking about rejecting both the NPP and the NDC and voting massively for an Nkrumaist party that is in a better position to provide the people of Accra with the good public services that they deserve.

I await your response within the next 7 days.

Yours Sincerely
Ade Sawyerr
