Plans advanced to equip GIJ for improved studies - Rector

The Rector of the Ghana Institute of Journalism, (GIJ), Prof. Kwansah Aidoo says plans are advanced to equip the school with modern facilities and technology that will enhance the academic life of students.

He noted that the changing dynamics of technology calls for a revision and investment in that direction.

Professor Aidoo was speaking at the 19th matriculation ceremony of the institute in Accra.

The matriculants were made up of one thousand three hundred and ninety-eight undergraduate students and one hundred and sixty postgraduate students.

Professor Aidoo was unhappy about the inability of the school to admit more qualified students, a situation he said could be improved with the early completion of its north Dzorwulu campus.

Professor Aidoo said GIJ is committed to student professional competencies and would continuously invest in it. He advised students to make the most out of their studies.

The ceremony which also coincides with the 60th anniversary of the school was graced by parents and well-wishers. The matriculants were beautifully clad in the special 60th-anniversary cloth.
