The Vice President, Kwesi Amissah-Arthur on Saturday, July 18, 2015 joined thousands of Muslims to mark the end of the Ramadan with the celebration of the Eid-UL-Fitr prayers at the Independence Square in Accra.

Mr Amissah-Arthur in his address acknowledged that due to the challenges facing the economy, the Mahama-led government has been forced to implement some difficult measures.

“The sacrifices, patience and prayers are producing the expected results,” he added.

Delivering this year’s Hutba (Sermon), the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Dr Osman Nuhu Sharabutu, admonished urged Ghanaians to live in peace and harmony.

Eid-UL-Fitr is an Islamic festival celebrated to mark the end of Ramadan, a month-long fasting period for Muslims.
