Philanthropist donates medical items to Half Assini Government Hospital

Mr Dan Borsor, a philanthropist from Takinta near Half Assini in the Western Region, and founder of Dan Borsor Foundation based in Accra, on Monday presented medical items worth several thousands of Ghana Cedis to the Half Assini Government Hospital.

The items comprised 55 large sizes latex foam super high density mattresses, 13 baby cots mattresses, 68 bed-sheets, and 35 gallons each of liquid soap and parasol.

Presenting the items, Mr Borsor said the donation was to extend the Foundation’s philanthropic gesture of community development activity to touch the lives of the people through improved health delivery at the hospital.

He said the communities were still developing under scarce resources and expressed the hope that the items would benefit the people by improving their living standards.

Dr George Godfred Hagan, Medical Superintendent of the Hospital who received the items, said the gesture was timely and appropriate and appealed to others to emulate the good and shinning example of Mr Borsor.

He further appealed to the donor to assist the hospital with ambulance and to adopt the male ward and renovate it to be named after him.

The Dan Borsor Foundation was established in 2008, and aims at helping improve education and the welfare of children particular in the Jomoro District through Dan Borsor Read-wide quiz competition and Dan Borsor Educational Scholarship.**
