Philanthropist donates $10,000-medical equipment

Tema Manhean, Oct. 02, GNA - A philanthropist resident in the United States, at the weekend, donated medical equipment worth 10,000 dollars to the Tema Manhean Health Centre at a ceremony at Tema Manhean. The items, made up of infusions, disinfectants, pace maker machine, and a stethoscope, among others, are to help improve health care delivery at the centre.

Bishop Samuel Ashitey Williams of the Rhema Church of Jesus Christ in Virginia, United States, who donated the equipment said, since most of the people in the community were fishermen and fishmongers, they needed to be always healthy, in order to go about their normal fishing activities.

Bishop Williams, a native of Tema Manhean said it was for this reason that he saw it as a responsibility to come over with the equipment to enable the centre to administer quality health care to the people. He hoped the items would be of immense benefit to residents in the community.

Dr Patrick Mahama Siddick, Medical Officer at the centre, received the equipment on behalf of management and staff, and thanked the donor for the wonderful gesture.

Dr Siddick reminded Bishop Williams not to let this be his last, but to follow it up with more donations to enable the centre to deliver efficiently.

Nii Adjei Kraku II, Tema Mantse, urged other public-spirited individuals and organisations resident abroad to come over to help health institutions within the Municipality to enable them to live up to expectation.
