The Former D-G of GPHA now Technical Advisor to the Minister of Transport, Mr. Paul Asare Ansah has been honoured by the District Directorate of the Ghana Education Service for his immense contribution to the improvement of educational standards in Asuogyaman.

Presenting a citation to Mr. Ansah, at their end of year lunch reception at Senchi in Asuogyaman, the District Director of GES Madam Mavis Yirenkyi noted that his support helped to improve their performance from a score of 67.9% in 2017 to 73.1% in 2018. Similarly, the regional ranking improved significantly from 17th to 10th.

Madam Yirenkyi recalled that in 2017 and 2018 Mr. Ansah organized quiz competitions for the 7 Senior High Schools in Asuogyaman. In April last year, he sponsored the second mock exams for all the 1,730 BECE candidates.

He went further to organize extra classes for all the candidates; bought maths sets, rulers and pens for them and paid for their transportation to and from the exams centers. He also provided all prospectus items for 15 students who scored aggregate 7 to 10 in the exams.

She added that Mr. Ansah did all these singlehandedly from his own resources and deserved to be honoured to motivate him and encourage others to follow his good example.

Mr. Ansah who was the chairman of the occasion indicated that his support would continue with additional interventions till the district records 100% score and emerges the best in the eastern region.

His long term vision is to produce one or two graduates in every household in Asuogyaman in 10 years.
