Pastor gets seven years for having sex with sheep

Fiapre, (B/A), Feb. 13, GNA – A 20-year-old pastor at Asikasu in the Sunyani Municipality, was Monday jailed seven years following his stunning admission to a Circuit Court at Fiapre that he had sex with a pregnant sheep.

Pastor Gordon Yeboah, founder of the Holy Spirit Fellowship at Big Shed at Asikasu, near Nkrankrom, pleaded guilty to his charge of bestiality at the court, presided over by Mr. Benjamin Yaw Osei.

The judge also ordered that the sheep, which was brought to court with “its human husband” to be given to its owner, the complainant.

Mr Osei said when passing the sentence, “You have even curbed my appetite for meat and I will from now onwards consider eating only fish.”

A large crowd later thronged the court premises to catch a glimpse of the pastor, who is married with a child.

Prosecuting, Inspector Ernest Nyarko Donyina, told the court the convict had been preaching at Asikasu and its environs.

The sheep, he said, belonged to the complainant, Kwadwo Kumi,

He said at about 1700 hours on February 9, the complainant was returning from his farm when on reaching the outskirts of Ampehia, a village near Asikasu, he (complainant) heard the sheep bleating continuously.

“The complainant looked at the direction where the bleating was coming from and as he approached saw the convict having sexual intercourse with the animal in a nearby bush,” Inspector Donyina stated.

The prosecutor said the complainant got closer to the scene and tapped the convict on the shoulder who immediately started pleading for forgiveness.

Inspector Donyina said Thomas Kumi, a brother of the complainant, also appeared on the scene and they marched the convict to the chief’s palace at Asikasu.

On hearing what had happened, the chief ordered that the case be reported to the Police for the law to take its course since the incident was a taboo in the area, he added.
