Parliamentary Select Committee on Education tours Wa

Wa, Oct 16, GNA - The Parliamentary Select Committee on Education is on the second leg of its tour of tertiary institutions in the northern part of the country, having already visited institutions in the south.

Mr Stephen Balado Manu, the Chairman of the Committee, said this when he led members of the committee to pay a courtesy call on the Upper West Regional Minister, Ambrose Dery, on Monday. He said the Committee was in the region for a two-day inspection tour of development projects at the Wa Polytechnic and the Wa campus of University for Development Studies.

Mr Manu, the Member of Parliament for Ahafo Ano South, said as members of the Committee it was proper that they make periodic tour of institutions to facilitate parliamentary debate on issues concerning the institutions.

He said the Committee had already toured tertiary institutions in the Brong Ahafo Region.

Mr Dery commended members of the committee for the tour and it would enable them to see the real situation of the Wa Polytechnic and the Wa campus of the University for Development Studies.
