Parliamentary Press Corps present laptop to Eastern Region GJA

Koforidua, Dec. 14, GNA - The Parliamentary Press Corps at the weekend presented a laptop computer to the Eastern Regional branch of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) at a short ceremony at Koforidua. The laptop was part of a package presented to the Parliamentary Press corps by the United Nation Development Programme (UNDP) under a project with the corps.

Presenting the laptop the Organising Secretary of the Parliamentary Press Corps, Nana Yaw Asare, said in recent times Parliament had been holding programmes in the Eastern Region and the press corps felt the need to collaborate with journalists in the region to enable them appreciate the work of parliament better. He said it was in the light of the collaboration that the corps presented the laptop to the branch to support the work of journalists in the region.

Nana Asare promised to extend invitation to members of the branch to participate in some of their training programmes. He said the Parliamentary Press Corps had also presented a similar laptop to the Volta Regional Branch of the Association. Receiving the item the Eastern Regional Chairman of the Association, Mr Edmund Quaynor, thanked the Parliamentary Press Corps for the presentation. He said the laptop would add up to other equipment that the branch was pursuing to help establish an internet centre where media personnel in the region could use.
