Parliament appoints new clerk

Parliament has appointed Emmanuel Ayimedu as the new Clerk to replace Kenneth Takyi, who is going on retirement.

Emmanuel Ayimedu, who resumes on July 2, was until his appointment, a Deputy Clerk in charge of Parliamentary Relations, Protocol and Public Affairs and has worked in various capacities in Parliament since 1993.

Born on 12 June, 1959 at Techiman in the Brong Ahafo Region, Mr Ayimedu holds a Masters Degree and Post Graduate Diploma certificate in Public Administration from Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration and has taken part in a number of workshops and conferences both home and abroad, after a B A (Hons) in Social Science ( Law and History).

A strong Adventist, he founded the Parliamentary Choir -Voices of Democracy – and is a Founding and Executive Member of Adventist Professional.

He is married with four children.
