Painter granted bail for indecent assault

One Samuel Nii Okai, a painter, was on Tuesday granted bail by an Accra Circuit Court for indecently assaulting an 11 year-old girl by inserting his fore finger into her anus.

Samuel was granted bail in the sum of GH?10,000.00 with two sureties to be justified and he is to reappear before the court on November 11.

Presenting the fact of the case, Detective Inspector Kofi Atimbire said the complainant is a welder who lives with his daughter together with the accused person on one compound.

He said in February 2014, the victim entered the accused person’s room to watch television with her sisters, but the accused asked her other two sisters to go out and he inserted his fore finger into her anus.

Detective Inspector Atimbire said the victim was quizzed by her mother and she narrated her ordeal.

This prompted her mother to make a report to the police.

He told the court that a medical form was issued to the complainant to take the victim to the hospital for treatment, after which Samuel was arrested.
