The Progressive People’s Party (PPP) is the party ordained by God to redeem Ghanaians from the shackles of poverty and inhumane conditions, the party’s parliamentary candidate for Obuasi West constituency in the Ashanti Region, Abubakar Sadick Iddris, has said.
Speaking at a press conference over the weekend, Mr. Sadick Iddris noted that the ruling National Democratic Congress and the opposition New Patriotic Party have, for a long time, deceived Ghanaians through lies and propaganda stressing that the people are yet to realise most of the promises made by the two parties.
The PPP, he said, is the only party that is telling the people what it can do to enhance quality lifestyles by improving on the economic situation of the nation without insults or incitements.
“Even though we have not been in power before, most of our people are self-made men and women who really know what they are talking about and I daresay that we are bent on giving Ghanaians the real change they are seeking for,’’ the parliamentary candidate said.
He continued that “it is sad to note that while people sit in air conditioned offices and media houses to engage in endless arguments over statistics, the ordinary people are expressing their anger at the slow pace of development.”
Mr. Abubakar Sadick Iddris who was sharing his vision for the Obuasi West constituency with the journalists said he is going to lead a team of youth who will lift the standard of life in Obuasi constituency considerably.
“We will do everything possible to move Obuasi away from mediocrity and the culture of indiscipline. We will halt the constant failure of leadership, the cruelty of resource mismanagement and the tragedy of low expectations of political leaders,’’ he stated confidently.
The PPP candidate who is sure of winning the Obuasi West seat come December 7 said politics in this age should not be of ideological missions but pragmatism, stating that “our people want food to eat, they want good health and safe roads, they want the best education for their children and good jobs. And this is the type of governance that the PPP is bringing to Ghana and Obuasi for that matter.”
He disclosed that his focus would be on four cardinal areas as part of his agenda to improve the lives of the people- quality education, youth employment, jobs and development for all.
