PNC Calls For Total Calm In Dagbon

The People's National Convention (PNC) today appealed to the people of the Dagbon Traditional Area to make forgiveness a cornerstone in their quest for a peaceful resolution to their problem.

The leader of the party, Dr Edward Mahama told Ghana News Agency (GNA), in Accra that it is necessary for the people of Dagbon to use the occasion of the Eid-ul-Fitr to call on Allah for total calm in the area. He said the whole nation is aware of the difficulties that the crisis has caused them economically, socially and politically adding that they should not allow those difficulties worsen the situation. He commended the leadership of Dagbon for maintaining the curfew.

He added that the PNC wants to use this opportunity to urge the government come out with its white paper on the Wuaku Commission without further delay. Dr Mahama said the PNC believes that government would point in the direction in which the nation has to handle the unfortunate situation for total peace in Dagbon.
