The Abuakwa Traditional Council has led a protest today, against the leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for defaming their overlord Okyenhene.

"Protest against the national leadership of the National Democratic Congress for the abusive and provocative statements made by Kwame Zu, Ashanti Regional Secretary of the National Democratic Congress," a press statement released by the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Council on 20th September 2019 said.

The Ashanti Regional Secretary of the NDC, Kwame Zu, mentioned that the Okyehene competed with animals for water in unsafe sources until former President Mahama provided water for the people of Kyebi, the hometown of President Nana Akufo Addo.

Kwame Zu's comments sparked outrage in the traditional area of Kyebi, for this reason, the Okyehene and his people have gathered today, September 23, 2019, at the forecourt of the Ofori Panin Fie in Kyebi to demonstrate.
