Ghana’s Black Stars have arrived in Bouaké, Côte d’Ivoire, ahead of their opening 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixture against the Elephants.

Carlos Queiroz’s squad touched down in the Ivorian city on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, a day before the highly anticipated Group C encounter at the Stade de la Paix.

Among the players who have travelled with the team are Benjamin Tetteh, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku and Felix Afena-Gyan, as Ghana begin the final preparations for Thursday’s clash.

The Black Stars had been in camp in Accra since Monday, September 21, 2026, and held training sessions at the Accra Sports Stadium before departing for Côte d’Ivoire. Eighteen players took part in Tuesday’s training session.

Queiroz and his technical team are expected to oversee Ghana’s final training session in Bouaké on Wednesday evening, with the team then turning their attention to the opening qualifier.

Ghana have been drawn in Group C alongside Côte d’Ivoire, The Gambia and Somalia, with the first two matches against the Elephants and The Gambia coming during the September international window.

The Black Stars will face Côte d’Ivoire on Thursday, September 24, before returning to Accra to host The Gambia on September 29, 2026.
