The Overcomers Worship Centre at Nungua in Accra has held a ground-breaking ceremony for the construction of an 800-seater church auditorium at Lashibi, in the Tema West Municipality.

The auditorium, which is a one-story building, would comprise children’s department, administrative office, a conference room, and library among other things.

Apostle Emmanuel Highty, the Founder of Covenant of Grace Ministries, performed the ceremony.

Reverend Dr Maxwell Owusu Frimpong, the Head Pastor of the Overcomers Worship Centre, later in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, said though the church had existed for the past 11 years, the land on which the new edifice would be built was leased.

He said the relocation of churches often came with two things; it could either win a number of souls or lose some members.

“However, if members will remain after relocation of the church, much will depend on the weight of impartation of the word to the people,” he said.

Rev. Dr Owusu Frimpong said buses would be made available to convey the church members to the new site after the completion of the building.
