Over 500 women to undergo breast cancer screening in Ghana

As part of efforts to help champion the cause of women in the country; Daughters Ministries International together with Abena Tay Ministries has taken another giant step by signing a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Breast Care International (BCI).

The two leaders of the individual outfits pledged to combine efforts to help sensitize the general public against diseases such as breast cancer and other ailments that affect women.

As part of the understanding, both enterprises would support each other’s initiatives that have been started already in order to address issues confronting women in the country.

Speaking at signing ceremony in Kumasi, Lady Rev. Dr Abena Tay and Dr Mrs Beatrice Wiafe Addai, committed to collaborate in ventures that will ensure the wellbeing of women, the needy and vulnerable in the society.

In a remarkable comment, Lady Rev. Dr Abena Tay said her ministry upon an intensive search and background checks about NGO’s in the country; she found BCI as the most credible outfit to partner with.

“We are planning for an upcoming 5th Anniversary of our Annual When When Worship (WWW) which has been a haven of worship to women from all walks of society and also, a platform for awarding our Chavvah Life-Givers Award to women who have impacted positively the lives of other women, such as Ohene Yere Gifty Anti, Maame Afua Konadu of Peace FM, Dr. Adwoa Quarshie, just to mention a few.

As part of the activities lined up to the main event WWW Edition 5, a Pink Market Day event has also been planned to take place at Tema Station on the 6th of September, at 8 am. We are expecting over 500 women to undergo the screening exercise and expecting some dignitaries to grace this special occasion, not forgetting breast cancer is a public health concern.

On the 27th October 2018, we shall climax the event by bringing all women together to worship at The National Theatre in Accra at 3PM with some anointed minstrels like Daughters of Glorious Jesus, Cece Twum, Celestine Donkor, Kekeli, Becky Bonney, leading us and bringing us to God’s throneroom of Grace.The Chavvah Award will also be presented to certain women who have chalked success and been of immense positive impact to womankind over the years.”

BRIEF BACKGROUND:

Lady Rev. Dr. Abena Tay is the President and founder of the Abena Tay Ministries (ATM) of which Daughson Ministries (DSMI), Daughters Ministries (DMI), Child in Need (CIN) Foundation and Telling The Next Generation (TTNG) are subsidiaries to.

She is the proprietress of Sensels School which is based in Taifa, Accra. She is a product of St. Roses Secondary School, Woolwich College in UK, University of Ghana, Legon and International Theological Seminary.

Lady Rev. Dr. Abena Tay is a UN Ambassador of Peace with an Ambassador for Peace Award from the Universal Peace Federation.

She is also a licensed Counselor for HIV and AIDS, mentor, conference speaker, philanthropist and a servant of the Lord Jesus Christ as well as founder of about four foundations and international network groups.

She was adorned with the Elite Woman in Ministry Award in Texas; Woman of Excellence Award in Florida by La Expose. She was also awarded with an African Humanitarian Award for Leadership and Women Empowerment by the Shepherd to Shepherd Network of Clergy, amongst others.

BCI LEADER:

Dr. Mrs Beatrice Wiafe Addai, President of BCI and CEO of Peace and Love hospitals in Ghana has practiced medicine for over 28 years to date.

A notable breast cancer surgeon and an advocate for women, Dr. Wiafe Addai has for over two decades been part of international research into breast cancer.

She has over two decades been involved in outdoor and community based sensitization initiatives to educate the public about breast cancer.

A member of the World Cancer Union, Dr Wiafe-Addai is a notable humanitarian, philanthropist, conference speaker and cancer surgeon.

She has received countless awards with the famous ones being the ones she received from the National Health Insurance Authority, Female Entrepreneurs Group in Africa, the BIZZ Group Legend Award from Miami, USA and many others.
