Over 15 passengers burnt to ashes on Kintampo-Tamale Highway accident

Dozens are reported dead Monday morning after a Yutong bus reportedly collided with a mini Sprinter bus with registration number AS 1801-18 on the Kintampo-Tamale Highway at dawn in the Bono-East region.

Kintampo-based Nkomode FM reports that both vehicles went up in flames after the crash and about fifteen passengers have been burnt beyond recognition in the inferno, according to the local radio station.

Assemblyman for Babatokuma Aziz Mohammed confirmed the unfortunate incident to MyNewsGh.com and added that it occurred between Dawadawa and Kawampe .

“We have been to the scene and I can confirm to you that about 15 persons have been burnt beyond recognition. The others who sustained various degrees of burn injuries have been rushed to the Kintampo and Techiman Hospitals”, he revealed

This is the second time in exactly a year that dozens would die on that stretch of road in this fashion.


MyNewsGh.com reported of the death of More than 70 passengers who were on board two buses that collided head-on in the early hours of Friday March 22, 2019 on the Tamale-Kintampo Highway.

That accident occurred at Amoma Nkwanta, a village near Kintampo in the Kintampo North Municipality of the Bono East Region, along the main Kintampo-Tamale Highway.
