The World Health Organization has over the years declared the month of October as the Breast Cancer Awareness month globally.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month celebrated all over the world, is marked to increase attention and support for the awareness, early detection and treatment as well as palliative care of this disease.

As part of the efforts to reach out to women and help create more awareness in the country, one of Ghana’s premier lingerie and sports outlet, Beautiful Beneath, is set to hold free breast screening exercise for women all over the country.

The project dubbed the ‘" Breast Love " will screen over 1000 women in five regional capitals. This will be done through the breast cancer advocacy organizations and the expertise of medical officers who will be brought on board as partners for a successful campaign.

The five-day programme which will start from October 1 to October 5, 2018, will include a health walk, free breast and cervical cancer screening.

The health walk and aerobics will be held on the first Saturday of October within the environs of East Legon, in Accra.

Also, an awareness creation event will recruit over 50 selected young women volunteers, who will invade high traffic prone highways in Accra. The main activities for this event will include the distribution of leaflets, brochures and other relevant educational materials geared towards awareness creation for breast cancer.

Beautiful Beneath is a Ghanaian fashion house which deals in quality lingerie, sportswear, swimwear and sleepwear from world leading brands for the whole family.
