Outreach Programme

The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Mr. Joshua Alabi, has led an Outreach team to some constitiencies in the region. The team visited Krowor, Ledzokuku, dadekotopon, Osu Klottey and Ayawaso, where it met traditional and opinion leaders. The team included a Deputy Minister of Environment, Science and Technology, Dr. Farouk Braimah, a Presidential Staffer, Nii Adjei Boye-Sekon, the Regional Secretary of the NDC and MP for Dadekotopon, Mr. Sylvester Mensah, and the MP for Ayawaso West Wuogan, Mrs. Rebecca Addotey. They explained government policies to the people as well as the re-introduction of the Value Added Tax and the forthcoming Unit Committee and District Assembly elections. The traditional leaders praised the Regional Minister for his efforts to ensure the elevation of some stools in the region, including the Nungua, Teshie, La and Osu stools to paramountcies. According to the chiefs, the elevation of such stools would ensure an effective mechanism to resolve intra township conflicts. The chiefs also commended the government for its policies to attract investment and the efforts so far made to adress the current energy crisis. They also pledged their support for the VAT and called on the citizenry to embrace it.
