Minister in Charge of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has paid tribute to Minister of Defence, Dr Edward Omane Boamah, who was tragically killed in a helicopter crash.
In a heartfelt Facebook post written before the final state funeral for the victims of the August 6, helicopter crash, Kwakye Ofosu expressed his gratitude for the impact Dr Omane Boamah had on his life.
"Fare thee well, my brother. Our 20-year journey as friends and brothers may have come to an abrupt and tragic end, but your memory will live with me forever. Thank you so much for impacting my life the way you did," he wrote.
The government on Friday, August 15, 2025, held a full military service conducted by the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) to usher the eight individuals who perished in a helicopter crash on August 6, peacefully into the afterworld at the Black Stars Square in Accra.
The Vice President is expected to arrive at 8:50 am, followed by President John Dramani Mahama at 9:00 am to commence the state service.
The three-hour ceremony will feature the reading of biographies of all eight victims, along with tributes from widows, children, government officials, and institutional representatives.

Following the service, the remains of six victims will be taken to the military cemetery at Tse Addo for interment, with burial rites jointly performed by the GAF and the respective churches of the deceased.
Two victims, Alhaji Dr Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed and Alhaji Muniru Mohammed Limuna, were buried earlier on Sunday, August 10, in line with Islamic customs.
