Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has revealed that the cloth and entire regalia he donned to Kyebi on Thursday, 23 August 2018, at the invitation of Okyehene Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin II, to celebrate the 75th anniversary of late Okyehene Nana Sir Ofori-Atta I, was the same traditional attire his late uncle Nana Agyemang Prempeh II wore in 1935 in uniting the whole of Asanteman.

The regalia have been preserved at the Manhyia Palace since that year.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II explained at the historic gathering in Kyebi that he wore the decades-old regalia in honouring the Okyehene's invitation due to its historic significance as a unity symbol.

"I have joined you here today with so much love from Asanteman", Otumfuo told the gathering, adding that: "Nana Ofori-Atta I, played an important role in uniting Asanteman in 1935".

"Due to the recognition of the efforts he made in uniting Asanteman, I decided to wear the same regalia my uncle wore in uniting Asanteman, to this occasion in Okyeman.

"The cloth I am wearing today and all the accompanying adornment have been there since 1935. I wore them here today to signify the unity among Asanteman and Okyeman", Otumfuo explained.
