The incumbent New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Abirem Constituency John Osei-Frimpong has received an overwhelming endorsement from delegates of the party at New Abirem in the Eastern Region to run on the ticket of the NPP for the 2020 national elections.

Mr. Osei-Frimpong who went unopposed due to the disqualification of two other aspirants by the Eastern Regional Vetting Committee of the party earlier picked nomination forms and successfully went through the vetting.

After the delegates had by popular acclamation endorsed the MP, the District Electoral Officer of the Electoral Commission raised his hand as the NPP parliamentary candidate for the 2020 elections.

Mr. Jerry Osei-Poku the Eastern Regional NPP Youth Organizer charged the delegates to propagate the good works of the MP to retain the Abirem seat for the NPP.

Mr. Osei-Poku drew the attention of the delegates of the numerous projects undertaken by the MP across the length and breadth of the constituency during his first tenure in office, stressing that it was only reasonable for them to support him to retain the seat to continue his good works to enhance the living standards of the constituents.

The Youth Organizer seized the opportunity to talk about the impending voter registration exercise and encouraged all qualified persons to go and register so that they could exercise their franchise in the 2020 national elections.

The Constituency Chairman, Mr. Baffour Bannor emphasized the need for all NPP supporters in the constituency to unite and rally behind the MP for victory in the elections.

Mr. Osei-Frimpong expressed appreciation to the delegates for the confidence reposed in him and affirmed his commitment to ensuring the rapid development of the constituency if the constituents vote for him again as their representative for a second term.

The MP, 49, holds B.A and Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) degrees from the University of Ghana Legon.
