  • Award was based on conversations and nominations from investment bankers and analysts that cover Africa.
  • Emerging Markets is independent of the Breton Woods institutions - IMF and World Bank.
  • Emerging Markets is owned by Euromoney Institutional Investor PLC, but they are a separate product from Euromoney magazine
  • No Award ceremony was held. No prize was given
  • Kwesi Pratt Jnr: He personally attended all official press conferences held by the IMF/World Bank Group during the course of the Annual Meeting, and at no time was there any mention made of any Finance Minister as the best from any part of the world
