Only ‘shithole’ gov’t will take Christian pilgrims to Israel for national prayers – Danyansah

Over 100 christians are expected to Israel with the aim of strengthening their faith Over 100 christians are expected to Israel with the aim of strengthening their faith

Policy analyst and political social commentator, Mr. Frank Aboagye Danyansah has attacked the government’s decision to send another batch of Christians from Ghana to Israel with aim of strengthening their faith.

“What a shithole decision. Is this a priority?”, he described in a write up posted on his Facebook wall.

“See why I say some so-called men are sabotaging government? By their deeds we shall know them, the president must hear this. Maybe he is not aware! Needless venture”, he fumed.

Deputy Minister of Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs is leading the first batch of 55 Christian pilgrims to the holy sites in Israel, with the aim of strengthening their faith.

The Israel Pilgrimage was the second after the Ministry successfully facilitated a maiden pilgrimage last year.

Mr Essien told the newsmen in a pre-departure interview at the Kotoka International Airport that, the first batch of the pilgrims were expected to return on Sunday, September 16, after visiting the various historical sites identified in the Bible.

He said the second batch of 150 pilgrims would join later during the week, to be led by Mr Samuel Kofi Dzamesi, the Minister of Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs.

Last year, the founder and leader of the Glorious Word Power Ministry International, Rev. Isaac Owusu-Bempah stated that the River Jordan in the Middle East, the Jericho wall and other things people embark on a pilgrimage to see are powerless.

According to him, they are mere relics and only give an imagination of things that are linked to the Christian faith contrary to claims pilgrims possess some supernatural powers after visiting the “Holy Land”

“The best way to be religiously strong is offering yourself to Christ. You must give your life to Christ so he can save you. The river Jordan, the anointing oils and the wailing walls people go there to weep on are just like the ordinary rivers and the anointing oils we have here in Ghana”, he explained.

He, however, stated that it only sets the stage for one to be in a prayerful mood after identifying what the originator of Christianity went through in these areas.
