One trapped under rubble of collapsed restaurant

A rescue mission is ongoing to pull out one person believed to be trapped under the rubble of a restaurant that collapsed late Saturday night near Akai House within the Cantonments.

The rescue team is made up of fire officers, Police personnel and officers from the ambulance service.

Twelve people who were also trapped under the rubble of the two-storey building have been rescued.

Seven of them have received treatment at the hospital and have been discharged.

The five other survivors are still under the watchful eyes of medical officers.

Nobody has been reported dead so far in the accident.

The Public Affairs Director of the Accra regional police command, ASP Afia Tengey told STARR NEWS’ Sika Yabani in an interview Sunday that the Police are looking for the owner of the building to help them with investigations.
