A renewed chieftaincy dispute at Oshiyie, near Kokrobite, on Sunday, June 18 has left one person with serious machete wounds.

The assemblyman of the area, Rockson Saka Allotey, narrating the incident to ClassFMonline.com, said the incident happened at about 10:30am when some members of the two factions in the 16-year dispute armed with cutlasses and clubs, clashed.

According to him, either side recorded injuries in the violence, although one sustained deep cuts to his body.

Mr Allotey said upon receiving information about the clash he passed the information on to the Ga South Municipal Chief Executive and the Weija Divisional Police who arrived in time to stop the bloodbath.

According to him, the severely wounded man was later taken to hospital for treatment.
