One person has been confirmed dead following a head-on collision between a Bank of Ghana bullion van and a fuel tanker at Techiman in the Bono East Region.

The bullion van with registration number GV 88-13 was heading towards Kumasi from Tamale when the incident occurred on Friday, 4 October 2019.

The fuel tanker with the registration number DP 4222-19 was heading towards Paga in the Upper East Region.

The severe collision left the driver of the fuel tanker, Osman Zongo, dead.

The collission also sent thousands of Ghana cedis notes flying into the sky.

The Police and the military were on the scene to ensure order and prevent theft.

The cause of the collision is yet to be known.
