One dead in Anyaa Market accident

One person has died following a rear-end collision involving a motorcycle and a Man Diesel truck on the Anyaa Market Road in Accra.

In a press release dated January 14, 2026, the Anyaa Fire Station said it received a distress call at about 9:44 AM on Tuesday, January 13, 2026.

It added that personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) arrived at the scene five minutes later.

The accident resulted in partial damage to the motorcycle and damage to the front section of the truck, the statement said.

The body of the deceased, suspected to be the motor rider, was handed over to the police for further investigations and necessary action.

The identity of the deceased is not known.

Fire Service personnel secured the scene, prevented any secondary hazards, and worked closely with the police and the Ambulance Service to ensure the situation was safely managed until operations were completed, the statement indicated.
